Vela, 57, around 10:35 a.m. at Los Tres Portillo's Centro de Envios/Corona Jewelry, precious metals & gem's dealer and grocery store at 1401 S. 7th Street. The Milwaukee Common Council Licensing Committee approved Portillo's license in May 2016.</div><div>Vela, who is originally from La Calera, Zacatecas, Mexico was apparently shot in the chest and later died at a local hospital, according to police.</div><div>Police released a photo of the alleged suspect caught on surveillance camera video and is seeking the aid of the community to identify the man.</div>

Dakota went on Facebook (FB) to explain his arrest, but confirmed that he has been released from custody and the FBI is investigating the incident. Thompson in his FB post says, that he was armed to protect DAPL employees and was taking photos of equipment. No camera was found or located in the truck leased by DAPL before it caught on fire.</div><div>Also, Vikie Granado, the spokesperson for DAPL says that Thompson does not work for DAPL and does not work for a contractor for the company, Standing Rock Uprising reported on FB. Native Americans who confronted Thompson near the Oceti Sakowin Camp found a DAPL security guard ID with Thompson's photo.</div><div>Dave Archambault, Chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe on Saturday said during a press conference, that he believes Thompson had infiltrated a camp and was spying for DAPL. Other water protectors on FB alleged that Thompson who is a Native American (Lakota) himself and an Iraq Veteran named "War Eagle" by his family was hired as an agitator to spark trouble and blame the peaceful water protectors. </div><div>Members of Thompson's family attempted to defend his actions on FB, but little success. Thompson removed his FB comments, but FB users made copies and reposted them on the FB comment thread.</div><div>Harold Frazier, Chairman of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe says, an attorney for the tribe will file a request on Monday with Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) for information concerning Thompson's arrest and any pending federal charges related to the incident.</div><div>If Thompson wasn't employed by any contractor for DAPL, according to Granado, how did Thompson end up with a DAPL ID. Thompson claims he was working as a security guard for DAPL when he was taken into custody, according to his FB post. Dakota - On Saturday, both Archambault II, Chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and Harold Frazier, Chairman of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe held a press conference to denounced the untrue allegations made by both Morton County Sheriff Kyle Kirchmeier and N. Dakota State Patrol Bryan Niewind who reported that water protectors were in private property and that a woman was arrested who had a handgun and fired three shots. Archambault said, the disputed land was stolen and sold illegally by the Army Corps of Engineers to the Energy Transfer Partners (ETP), which is affiliated with the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). The land where the DAPL pipeline construction continues to be built and bought by ETP is in question and the oil company is being investigated by the N. Dakota State Attorney General Office, which cited under the N. Dakota's Corporate Farming Law that it can not buy, lease or own property, if it is not "use for business purposes, registered family farms, ect." So far, the ETP had until October 27 to file a notice of intent with the state, but it has not explained their intent to use the land other than installing a pipeline that will allow about 500,000 gallons of oil to flow through the land and under the Missouri River.</div><div>Archambault alleged that EPT is a bad company and currently is being sued <span style="font-family: sans-serif;">in four different legal lawsuits </span>for contaminating the environment. He also alleged that Morton County Sheriff Kyle Kirchmeier is lying (speaks with a forked tongue) when he sent out information to the media that a woman was arrested after she pulled a gun and fired three shots on Thursday at the N. Dakota Highway 1806 during the police assault to evict water protectors from Native American land under the 1851 Treaty of Fort Laramie. Archambault says, EPT hasn't provided proof that they purchased the disputed land legally. He accused Kirchmeier, multiple state and federal legislators of favoring DAPL oil interests and taking contributions by the oil company.</div><div>Archambault says, that the pipeline should be moved away from sacred sites that are been threaten or have been destroyed and not allowed to cross the the Missouri River. He suggested that energy pipelines currently crossing the Missouri River should be inspected and kept up to avoid any river contamination. The DAPL pipeline could be rerouted, so it does not cross the river and still allow for DAPL to operate its oil flow through the state, according to Archambault.</div><div>Frazier confirmed that Kyle Thompson, a DAPL security guard who was armed with an assault rifle had been taken into custody by the Bureau of Indian Affairs officers on Thursday. Archambault alleged that Thompson had infiltrated one of the multiple water protectors camp to spy for DAPL and ETP.</div><div>Frazier says, an attorney for the tribe will file a public information request to seek more information about Thompson's arrest near the Oceti Sakowin Camp. Thompson had an AR-15 with 30 live rounds. According to a Facebook video that went viral, Thompson was seen pointing his weapon and firing his weapon at a woman as other water protectors surrounded him after he was chasing a Native American journalist and was discovered to have a loaded weapon. Thompson was headed to the camp. </div><div>Frazier criticized MCSO deputies for forcing a water protector from a sweat teepee who was praying and arresting him. He explained, it's like dragging and taking out someone who is praying from a church and arresting him.</div><div>Sheriff Kirchmeier on Friday confirmed that some of those arrested were marked with numbers on their arms for property identification purposes. Property seized was numbered as the individual arrested, so it could be reclaimed later by the person. Some of the 141 water protectors (protesters) were booked and processed at the Morton County jail, some of those arrested were transferred to four different county jails, at McLean, Cass, Ramsey and Burleigh.</div><div>Sheriff Kirchmeier said that the Native Americans who block part of Highway 1806 and setup a camp to block DAPL construction were in private property own by EPT, but Archambault disputed that and says the water protectors were in tribal land.</div><div>Frazier confirmed that he has requested for the U.N. to send troops to the area and monitor the tense situation between water protectors, police and DAPL. Amnesty International is sending observers as well. Law enforcement has block entrance to the disputed land where DAPL continues to construct the pipeline even when an easement permit has been denied until the Corps of Engineers evaluates the environmental impact in the area.</div><div>U.S. Senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders has requested for Obama to suspend all DAPL easement permits until an environmental impact evaluation is made along the four state pipeline construction area. President Barack H. Obama has not acted on Sanders request nor Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton (D) has taken a stand on DAPL. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has invested interests with DAPL, according to Archambault.</div><div>Law enforcement officers from Wisconsin, Indiana, Minnesota, Wyoming and South Dakota including the National Guard assisted the Morton County Sheriff's Office assault on Thursday, which concussion grenades, mace, tasers, rubber bullets, a LRAD Sound Cannon and a Active Denied System (heat skin irritant) were used to induce pain on water protectors.</div><div>In other news, the Kahanawake community in Montreal, Canada set up a road blockade on Highway 132 at the Mercier Bridge on Friday for several hours and today in solidarity with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.</div><div>In N. Dakota, Myron Dewey reported Saturday that a 20 vehicle caravan went to collect some teepees and sacred items from the Hwy 1806 camp where 141 water protectors were arrested for trespassing and was not allowed by a MCSO deputy to video record inside the area for Digital Smoke Signals media. Dakota - On Thursday, Morton County Sheriff deputies (MCSO), N. Dakota State Patrol, National Guard and assisting law enforcement officers from seven states launched an assault on Native Americans around 11:00 a.m. to clear a road block and camp on the path of the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). The DAPL pipeline is ready to cross over Hwy 1806 enroute to the nearby river.</div><div>MCSO deputies fired live rounds of non-lethal ammo (rubber/bean bags) at #NoDAPL protesters (water protectors), one water protector was shot in the face, two teen horse riders were shot at and one horse was injured by a police projectile another horse died from police gunfire.<br />Also, the Active Denial System (heat skin irritant) and LRAD Sound Cannon were allegedly used by military and the MCSO against #NoDAPL protesters to induce pain at Hwy 1806 assault to evict Native Americans from their land.<br />The MCSO reported that 141 protesters were arrested on N. Dakota Highway 1806 and that a woman was being placed under arrest when she pulled a .38 Cal. handgun and fire three shots at officers, no officer was shot. The woman was taken into custody. </div><div>N.D. State Patrol Captain Bryan Niewind reported that the woman when forced to the ground by officers during arrest, she managed to pulled a gun from her waist and fired three shots.<br />Another incident, Kyle Thompson, a DAPL security armed with an assault rifle chased an unknown person who was operating a drone in the area, but water protectors were able to run his truck off the road. Thompson brandished an assault rifle at water protectors and was taken into custody by Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) officers.<br />Thompson is a U.S. Army Veteran who served 15 months in Iraq and in 2007 he was given the name "War Eagle" by his family who are Native Americans. Thompson was caught with an AR-15 near the Oceti Sakowin camp and had 30 live rounds, the BIA disarmed Thompson and unloaded the weapon when detained.<br />The truck that Thompson was driving caught fire and was insured for Thompson-Gray, LLC, Knightsbridge Risk Management in Springfield, Ohio. A travel log also indicated that Thompson might have been accompanied by another DAPL security Sheldon Webber who couldn't be located at the scene and remains at large, according to water protectors who found the documents inside the truck before it burned.</div><div>Exclusive drone video footage showed Thompson chasing another vehicle and on the horizon, it show DAPL equipment burning, police on foot and vehicles chasing horse riders and shots being fired at them.<br />The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe (SRST) says, that police moved in to forcibly remove water protectors from tribal land along the N. Dakota Highway 1806. Dave Archambault II, Chairman of the SRST says, that the State of N. Dakota and the U.S. Department of Justice should oversee the operations of the Morton County Sheriff's Office and the assisting law enforcement officers from multiple states to ensure "safety...First Amendment rights...and hold the State of North Dakota and Morton County accountable for their acts of violence against innocent, prayerful people...Today we have witnessed people praying in peace, yet attacked with pepper spray, rubber bullets, sound and concussion cannons. We urge state and federal government agencies to give this tense situation their immediate and close attention...We also call on all water protectors who stand in solidarity with us against DAPL to remain in peace and prayer. Dakota trooper vehicle in Morton County while visiting the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.</div><div>So far, Governor Daugaard has not released a statement about allowing or the withdrawal of state highway patrol troopers assisting the State of N. Dakota and the MCSO in protecting their DAPL oil interests.</div><div>Sazue Sr. in a press release confirm, that the CCST will "rescind any or all contact with the State of South Dakota" including the "Null and Void" of the State Tribal Tax agreement and the State Highway Patrol (MOU). </div><div>MCSO and assisting officers from WI, MN, IN, SD, NE and WY have been committing illegal stops and seizures without warrants, instigating attacks on peaceful Native Americans and allies during prayer ceremonies at #NoDAPL sites and shooting at Native American media drones to cover up illegal acts, macing water protectors (protesters) without provocation, arresting with abusive intent and charging journalists with criminal trespassing and rioting, including the abuse of criminal law concerning a riot and charging peaceful water protectors with engaging and inciting a riot when multiple social media live streaming videos at DAPL sites indicate that the MCSO deputies and assisting police are the ones engaging in a riot themselves.</div><div>MCSO deputies and assisting officers including Morton County Sheriff Kyle Kirchmeier, Cass County Sheriff Paul Laney and Morton County State Attorney Ladd Erickson have shown a pattern of prosecuting journalists for reporting non-favorable news and blatant discrimination practices against Native Americans by charging protesters with frivolous rioting. Many Native Americans charged with a minor violation have been also stripped search while being booked at the Morton County jail to humiliate them and break their spirits, but have remained defiant against their cruel treatment. </div><div>To date: not one of the White DAPL private security guards who unleashed a vicious dog attack against Native Americans and allies on September 3rd have been brought to justice. </div><div>Those MCSO deputies and assisting rouge law enforcement officers (Outlaws with a badge) who intentionally violate the civil rights of Native Americans and allies could face federal lawsuits under the law. The states from where those officers come from could also be liable as well.</div><div><br /></div><div>Update: Facing criminal charges, 7 Ohio Frost Kennels dog handlers involved on the September 3rd vicious dog attack of #NoDAPL protesters had no valid N. Dakota work license to do so, according to the Morton County Sheriff's Office ongoing investigation. It is a Class B misdemeanor for a private security company to work without a valid license in the state. Cohen, 35, Ashley L. Sawatzke, 30 and Amy C. Taylor, 32, all from Chicago. The three women were riding in a Uber without wearing seat belts and the Uber driver Timothy Snyder, 41, who survived the crash was driving westbound on W. Clybourn St. when Randhawa with another passenger in a 2015 Lexus R350 ran a stop light going southbound on S. 2nd Street and struck the Uber. Both Randhawa, the Lexus driver and his passenger fled the scene on foot.</div><div>Snyder suffered a broken vertebrae and bleeding near the liver.</div><div>Randhawa is facing three felony counts for vehicular homicide while intoxicated and felony hit-and-run including additional charges.</div><div>In October 8, 2015, Randhawa pleaded guilty in Ozaukee County to misdemeanor driving with a revoked license for refusing to take a blood test for alcohol or control substances and paid a fine.</div><div></div>

The water protectors (protesters) are from a group called Mississippi Stand and are struggling to stop the DAPL construction along with the N. Dakota - On Sunday, the Morton County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) reported that a drone got to close to a police surveillance helicopter and the pilot and an officer "feared for their life" and they fired upon the unmanned drone and was forced to land. But apparently, video posted on Facebook (FB) by Prolific The Rapper, it shows several ground law enforcement officers targeting the drone and discharged their weapons at it.</div><div>Prolific posted on his FB account, "Video Evidence Of Shots Fired at Native Media Drones. You can see officers discharging their firearms at the end of the video. #NoDAPL</div>Please contact Morton County Sheriffs office and ask them to cease and desist aggressive actions against independent media and people gathered in prayer to protect their waters. Dr0ne2bwild Photography & Video #MniWiconi"<br /><div>The MCSO in a press release stated, Authorities report two documented cases where an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) flew at a helicopter in a threatening manner.  The helicopter was assisting in surveillance in the vicinity of Highway 1806 during an active protest situation Sunday morning. A sheriff on board the helicopter reported to law enforcement on the ground that the helicopter pilot and passengers were "in fear of their lives", and that the "drone came after us."  </div>Around 11:00 a.m., the drone was flying directly above officers, in violation of FAA rules.  Law enforcement used less-than-lethal ammunition to fire on and damage the UAS, which was then landed by the drone operator.<br /><div>Two drone operators have previously been charged for crimes involving illegal use of unmanned aircraft systems during the on-going protest situation. Myron Dewey was charged with stalking and Aaron Turgeon was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment, one being a C Felony for flying an UAS at a North Dakota Highway Patrol plane. <br />Authorities are currently monitoring protest activity north of the camp, near Highway 1806. Due to the traffic hazard the public, highway 1806 has been closed due. As of this morning, 200 protesters and 8 horses had cut fence and entered private property east of 1806. This is private property that is a DAPL construction site. DAPL employees are working along the pipeline route today, according to the MCSO press release.<br />Dewey, a journalist used his media drone to video record Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) private security harassing water protectors. Dewey was subject to an illegal field stop, search and seizure of a drone without a warrant. A MCSO deputy was live video recorded on FB by Dewey admitting that a warrant would be issued at a later date for his arrest. Dewey turned himself to the MCSO, was processed and posted a $350 bail bond.</div><div>Dewey's case is one of multiple instances where rouge MCSO deputies illegally stop and conduct illegal acts against members of the Native American media and no White DAPL security guard has ever been charged for criminal acts against the water protectors, which most are Native Americans.<br />Dewey posted on his FB account, "Oceti Sakowin has claimed eminent domain over traditional lands, "broken treaty lands" from Energy Transfer company, "Dakota Access pipeline company". <br />Digital Smoke Signals media tent is erected to report news from front lines.<br />The lands have now been blessed correctly by the original caretakers of the land. <br />The sacred fire has been lit of the 7 councils!!!<br />It is an honor to witness..."<br />The Sacred Stone Camp released the following statement, "This morning, at approximately 8am central, water protectors took back unceded territory affirmed in the 1851 Treaty of Ft. Laramie as sovereign land under the control of the Oceti Sakowin, erecting a frontline camp of several structures and tipis on Dakota Access property, just east of ND state highway 1806. This new established camp is 2.5 miles north of the Cannon Ball River, directly on the proposed path of the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). This site is directly across the road from where DAPL security dogs attacked water protectors on September 3rd...Meanwhile, DAPL is still trying to dig, heading towards this new frontline camp. This is real.<br />We are done with being reactionary. We are asserting our rights as Indigenous peoples! This remains a non-violent direct action committed to peaceful civil disobedience."<br />On Saturday, at least 126 water protectors (protesters) were arrested, the MCSO reported, since August 10, a total of 269 have been arrested for illegal protests. About 80 were booked for criminal trespassing, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, fleeing from amln officer, engaging in a riot and several were charged with felony endangerment for attaching themselves to DAPL equipment and vehicles, according to N. Dakota Highway Patrol Captain Bryan Niewind. Captain Niewind as Cass County Sheriff Paul Laney, Morton County Sheriff Kyle Kirchmeier and Morton County State Attorney Ladd Erickson believe that under the N. Dakota state criminal law, if more than five persons engage in a peaceful traditional Native American prayer ceremony near or at a #NoDAPL construction site, it is a riot.</div><div>The state criminal riot law specifically cites that a person or persons have to engage in "tumultuous and violent conduct creates grave danger of damage or injury to property or persons or substantially obstructs law enforcement or other government function" as stipulated under the N. Dakota criminal code. Peacefully engaging in a Native American prayer ceremony and being unarmed at #NoDAPL site, which many live streaming videos posted on FB by water protectors is not a riot, but videos have shown that the police actually have harassed, intimidated and engaged in a riot themselves to provoke water protectors who remained peaceful.</div><div>The ACLU-ND has filed an open records requests with the N. Dakota State Highway Patrol and the MCSO to look into alleged illegal acts by law enforcement against Native Americans who are protesting DAPL's desecration of sacred burial sites along its route.</div><div>MCSO continues to use drones to illegally spy on six Native American camps, but law enforcement don't allow media to record their actions in public by drones on the ground.</div><div>Also authorities continue to arrest journalists at #NoDAPL sites and have charged them with criminal trespassing as an attempt to deter other journalists from covering the abuse and illegal acts against Native Americans and the local Native indigenous media. Amy Goodman, a journalist from Democray Now was facing criminal trespassing, which was dropped and later charged for rioting, but the charge was dismissed as well. Erickson failed to prosecute Goodman for exposing an all White DAPL security team using vicious dogs to attack and bite water protectors and a child. The commercialized mainstream reported the vicious dog attack and to date, none of the DAPL security guards have been charged with a crime indicating alleged corruption by the Morton County Sheriff's Office, N. Nelson Goodson</div><div>Hispanic News Network U.S.A.</div><div><br></div><div>October 23, 2016</div><div><br></div><div>Brown Deer, Wisconsin - On Friday, Brown Deer Police Officer Devon Kraemer, 27, was charged with one felony count for aggravated battery/use of a dangerous weapon in the March 14 shooting of a man involved in Milwaukee County Transit bus transfer dispute. If convicted, Kraemer is facing up to 15 years in prison and $50,000 in fines.</div><div>According to the criminal complaint, Officer Kraemer and another officer responded to a call by a bus driver who flagged them down for assistance concerning a male passenger who was angry for paying a bus fare and didn't get a transfer. The bus driver told the man that paper transfers were no longer provided unless he obtained a M-card, which the transfer is provided electronically.</div><div>Officer Kraemer and another office made Manuel Burnley Jr., 26, get off the bus at the 8600 of N. 60th Street and he resisted arrest while being handcuffed. The victim and the officers fell to the ground and Officer Kraemer pulled her handgun and shot the victim in the back while he was faced down on the ground. Burnley Jr. lost part of his lung in the shooting and survived.</div><div>Officer Kraemer told investigators that she fear for her life, but Burnley Jr. was unarmed at the time.</div><div>Kraemer remains in paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the case.</div><div><br></div>

Dakota - The Morton County Sheriff's Office reported that at least 300 protesters (water protectors) had marched 3 miles West of Highway 1806 near a Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) construction site. An estimated 126 water protectors have been taken into custody, since August 10, a total of 269 have been arrested for illegal protests, according to the MCSO. Some of the water protectors were maced and others reported injured, according to Mryon Dewey, a journalist from Digital Smoke Signals media. Another journalist, Sara Lafleur-Vetter was also taken into custody at the scene. Some of those arrested were transported to multiple sheriff county jails in near by areas due to overflow of arrests in Morton County.</div><div>The police and MCSO deputies surrounded the water protectors and didn't allow them to leave the area when they pleaded with police that they would voluntarily leave. Some of the water protecters escaped across a river to safety.</div><div>Leaders of the Sacred Stone Camp have confirmed that DAPL (Black Snake) is getting ready to cross Highway 1806 into sacred land and burial sites, which would destroy Standing Rock Sioux Tribe historical sites and burial grounds. So far, 380 sacred sites have been destroyed, according to the #NoDAPL movement leaders. A plead has been made for all tribes and allies to converge into the area within the next several days to help stop the desecration of the sacred sites (Ground Zero).</div><div>The MCSO reported that the water protectors and journalist arrested will be charged with criminal trespassing and rioting. But, live videos recorded and posted on Facebook by water protectors show that the only rioters were the police who launched an assault on the unarmed water protectors.</div><div>DAPL construction has been taking place at night to gain ground.<br />Several weeks ago, a N. Dakota congressional delegation send a letter to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Department of Interior and the Corps of Engineers requesting additional resources and support for law enforcement efforts in Morton County to deal with the ongoing DAPL protests. According to the delegation, the projected cost for the state in dealing with the DAPL protests and demonstrations is estimated at $1M per week.<br />But, most likely any federal resources allocated to the State of N. Dakota geared for Morton County will only continue to fund illegal acts committed by assisting law enforcement officers, state patrol and MCSO deputies. Heaggan-Brown, 24, a Milwaukee Police Officer was charged with two felony counts for 2nd-degree sexual assault of intoxicated victim, 2nd-degree sexual assault of unconscious victim, one felony count for capture an intimate representation and two misdemeanor counts for prostitution-none maritial intercourse for the August 15 sexual assault of a male victim. If convicted of all counts, Heaggan-Brown is facing up to 40 years in prison for each count of sexual assault and up to $100,000 in fines for each count, 3 years and 6 months in prison and up to $10,000 in fines for one count of capture an intimate representation, and 9 months in prison and $10,000 in fines for each count of prostitution.<br />Officer Heaggan-Brown was taken into custody on Thursday by police and was booked at the Milwaukee County jail, which a hold has been placed preventing bail release.<br /><div dir="auto">The Milwaukee Police Department has suspended Officer Heaggan-Brown with pay pending the outcome of the case. Auer Ave. on August 13 and an unrest followed for weeks. 28 people were arrested and charged with various crimes resulting from the Sherman Park unrest after Smith was murdered by Officer Heaggan-Brown.</div><div dir="auto">The Wisconsin Department of Justice concluded its investigation and the Smith death investigation results have been turned over to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office for review and to determine, if the homicide of Smith by Officer Heaggan-Brown was justified. </div><div dir="auto">The Milwaukee Police Department has not released the body camera videos showing Officer Heaggan-Brown fatally shoot Smith, which had raised concerns and allegations of the lack of transparency by the police department. According to the criminal complaint against Officer Heaggan-Brown, the off-duty officer sexually assaulted the male victim several days after killing Smith while on duty.<br />Police found explicit nude photos of the male victim in Officer Heaggan-Brown's cellphone, which the victim denied giving any consent for the photos or engaging in sex. The victim didn't know that the Officer took photos while he was unconscious at the time of the sexual assault. They also found cellphone texts messages soliciting several males for prostitution as well as another alleged second sexual assault from last July, according to the criminal complaint.<br />Officer Heaggan-Brown is also a singer and composer who video recorded a song and was posted on YouTube about doing drugs, shooting people, igniting a riot like Baltimore and weapons.</div><div dir="auto"><br /></div></div>Video: Milwaukee Police Officer Dominique L. Dakota - On Tuesday, Morton County Sheriff Kyle Kirchmeier confirmed that Phelim McAleer, 49, an Irish filmmaker and his crew were harassed and threatened at the Sacred Stone Camp (SSC) located inside the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe reservation and has filed a complaint. Sheriff Kirchmeier in a news conference says, that "protesters exhibit escalated violent behavior as journalists threatened," a video released to officers shows "a threatening and terrifying situation for the three journalists" when a camp security tried to take a vedeo microphone from McAleer. McAleer and his crew were covering a protest activity on Monday were invited to the SSC to interview those involved on Tuesday, when they were attacked by members of the SSC and prevented them from leaving the camp, according to McAleer.</div><div>During a presentation of a <a href="http://youtu.be/-RIj4uPXYn8">video</a>, it showed Magdalena Segieda, a female McAleer crew member calling 911 and telling to operator that she was scared and fearful while the vehicle was shaken by those outside, but no violent behavior than shaking the vehicle is shown from those outside and another part of the video shows a SSC security attempting to take a microphone away from McAleer.</div><div>Apparently, McAleer claims that he and his 2 member crew were threatened and harassed by some members of the SSC when they began to ask questions not favorable to those being interviewed. An investigating police lieutenant assisting the Morton County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) who responded to the scene confirmed at the press conference that Segieda did say that she had film that the members of the SSC didn't want them to have, which includes the unauthorized filming of Native American children and the sacred fire that was prohibited by the camp media protocol policy provided to all media visting the camp.</div><div>The police lieutenant did say that they also received a 911 call from the SSC camp as well about McAleer and his crew.</div><div>A YouTube video post called "Prelim McAleer is not a Journalist" in April 2016, exposes McAleer as pro-oil and alleged that victims of oil contamination are just out to get money from oil companies.</div><div>McAleer had registered as a journalist and even showed a credential at the media tent and was given information about the protocol for media members and certain restrictions as well, according to Cynthia Baumann, from the SSC media tent.</div><div>Baumann who registered McAleer as a journalist visiting SSC posted the following statement on Facebook, "It has come to our attention that the agitator and agenda propagandist Phelim McAleer who claims that his "30 minutes of terror" was unprovoked, is currently holding a press conference with Morton County Sheriff's Department. Here are a couple facts about the situation with Mr. McAleer visiting the community.</div>1) Phelim McAleer was checked into the media tent, he was read exactly all the rules one by one. I would know, because I was the one who check him in.<br />2) Later McAleer was caught committing various violations of the rules that were explained to him<br />- Documenting children without permission from a parent of guardian<br />- Documenting the sacred fire that was explained as off limits<br />-Asking community members questions meant to offend.<br />Once Mr. McAleer was confronted about his violation of the rules, Phelim McAleer stated that he did not have a press pass, and did not need one. This is a lie, as I personally checked him in. It is our belief that he was lying to force a confrontation between himself and the security set in place to protect the safety of the community. When pulling out, Mr. McAleer hit a community member with his vehicle, the person which has personally explained to me. We believe this may have been documented, and if so, we will contact legal about the situation. Mr. McAleer, I suggest you not leave the state so soon.<br />We also have video footage of Mr. McAleer being escorted out of Prairie Knights casino by local law enforcement after I was able to hear him being removed from the hotel. McAleer was screaming at residents and guests of the hotel.<br />We will be compiling our video evidence of McAleers actions, along with phrases such as "You are just stupid f$**#ing Indians" while at camp trying to provoke an issue, and respond once everything is compiled and organized.<br />Once again, here is an act of Morton County Sheriffs using false propaganda to push their agenda of working as direct security for Dakota Access Pipeline.<br />Remember, this man is an established liar, therefore anything he says at press conferences or anywhere else must be considered suspect."<br /><div>Sheriff Kirchmeier says, that an investigation is ongoing to determine, if charges against the SSC security guard will be charged in the incident. Myron Dewey, a journalist with the #NoDAPL movement posted in a video that McAleer was a children predator just like MCSO Deputy Jonathan Moll who also was caught taking photos of students. Dewey says, that McAleer was told not to film children at the SSC without authorization and if McAleer would publish such video and photos that SSC will file a lawsuit for taking unauthorized video.</div><div>Sheriff Kirchmeier failed to mention at the press conference that according to the SSC, McAleer was not following media protocol and took unauthorized video footage at the camp and attempts were made to take the footage.<br /><div dir="auto"><br /></div><div dir="auto">Donnell Preskey, spokeswoman for the MCSO released the follwing press release, Two journalists – a male and female from CA along with a videographer from Bismarck, ND arrived to the area 10/17<br />They followed the protests on 10/17 with no issues.<br />They were invited to come to the camp on 10/18.<br />The male reporter was interviewing campers when a person got upset by the line of questioning and tried to grab the journalists microphone.<br />There was an altercation between the protesters at the camp and the journalists.<br />Those identified as camp security told the journalists they had to leave but couldn't until they turned over their footage.<br />The journalists were able to get into their vehicle and locked it. It was then surrounded by protesters who pounded on the vehicle and rocked it and continued to threaten them unless they turned over the video.<br />Vehicles from the protest camp even blocked in the journalists vehicle preventing them from being able to drive away.<br />The three victims called 9-1-1 for help.<br />Eventually, they were able to drive to the gate at the camp entrance – although the gate was closed and blocked by a vehicle. It wasn't until officers arrived that camp security cooperated and allowed the journalists to leave.<br />They were brought to the Morton County Sheriff's department and interviewed. They told the officer they were "scared for their life."</div><div dir="auto">Another press release by the MCSO stated, the male reporter was interviewing a group of individuals at the camp. It is apparent by watching the video of the interview that the individuals got offended by a line of questioning. One individual who identified himself as camp security tried to grab the reporter's microphone and dragged the reporter who would not let go of his equipment.</div>"The journalists made their way back to the vehicle. However, protesters blocked them in by surrounding their vehicle with people and vehicles. Individuals are seen pounding on the journalist's vehicles and rocking it," said Morton County Sheriff Kyle Kirchmeier. "Protesters demanded the journalists turn over their video footage. Numerous times the journalists pleaded with protesters to "let them leave."<br />The journalists called 9-1-1 for help, during the call you can hear the frantic plea for help. The journalists told our Morton County investigators they were, "scared for their life."<br />According to the interview with our investigation team, the journalists were fearful of putting their vehicle into park for fear that this would unlock their doors.  They eventually were allowed to drive toward the camp entrance. However, camp security closed the gate and blocked them from leaving.<br />Officers responded to the camp and using a PA asked individuals in the camp to allow the journalists leave. The officer told the media the female journalist was terrified. The journalists were escorted to the Morton County Law Enforcement Center where they were interviewed. Dakota - On Tuesday, Atsa E'sha Hoferer on his Facebook account posted a video of Golden Globe Nominee Canadian actor Adam Beach, 43, at the Sacred Stone Camp (STC). Beach stopped at the STC camp with his daughter in support of the #NoDAPL Native American movement to halt the crude oil pipeline construction.</div><div>Beach is a member of the Saulteaux First Nation, was born in Ashern, Manitoba and raised on the Dog Creek Reserve, according to his career and biography as an actor. He has acted in at least 60 films and TV shows, including Cowboys and Aliens with Harrison Ford.</div><div>Beach is one of several known celebrities that have stopped at Sacred Stone Camp in support of #NoDAPL. On October 10, Shailene Woodley, 24, an actress in the "Divergent" movie was arrested near St. Anthony for two misdemeanor counts, trespassing and a frivolous charge for engaging in a riot during a peaceful and Native American prayer ceremony at a DAPL protest site. Woodley will be back at a Morton County court house hearing on October 24, according to court records. 27 other water protectors (protesters) were also arrested along with Woodley.</div><div>So far, more than 140 water protectors and allies have been arrested and charged with frivolous riot (engaging/inciting a riot) crimes, by the Morton County State's Attorney.</div><div>Last Monday, a Morton County judge dismissed a frivolous criminal charge for riot against Amy Goodman, a journalist for Democracy Now. Several other water protectors had their charges for riot dismissed as well. </div><div>Also on Monday, Myron Dewey, a journalist surrendered to the Morton County Sheriff's Office after a warrant was issued for a frivolous misdemeanor charge for stalking of DAPL security. Dewey was able to live video record on his Facebook account when he was illegally stopped in a dirt road, searched and a drone confiscated without a warrant. The MCSO deputy told Dewey that they had a warrant, but couldn't produce one for more than 14 minutes until an unidentified deputy told Dewey he was free to leave and to expect a warrant for his arrest later.</div><div>Dewey's video shows how rouge MCSO deputies and law enforcement officers assisting the MCSO have engaged in illegal acts against water protectors, targeted Native Americans and journalists.</div><div>The American Civil Liberties Union in N. Dakota (ACLU-ND) has filed an open records request with the N. Dakota State Patrol and the MCSO in their investigation into alleged illegal acts that deputies and officers have been accused of doing.</div><div>The ACLU-ND claims that the MCSO, N.D. State Patrol and their assisting law enforcement officers from other jurisdictions have and continue to conduct unlawful road blocks, drone surveillance and check points targeting #NoDAPL water protectors (Native Americans) to stop them from legally gaining public road/highway access to protest at or near DAPL sites.</div><div>Reports have surfaced that targeted Native Americans arrested and booked for minor crimes like disorderly conduct have been stripped search at the MCSO jail. Several of those arrests included Dr. Sara Jumping Eagle, a Pediatrician for the Standing Rock reservation was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and booked at the MCSO jail and stripped search and Dave Archambault II, the Chair of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe was also arrested for civil disobedience and booked at the MCSO jail and was also stripped searched, according to Goodman, a journalist from Democracy Now.</div><div>Morton County State Attorney Ladd R. Erickson, Morton County Sheriff Kyle Kirchmeier and Cass County Sheriff Paul Laney, who is assisting MCSO during the DAPL protests have not released any statements about frivolous riot charges against water protectors have been dismissed. Goodman claims, they have charged journalists with the frivolous riot crimes in an attempt to suppress free of the press and people's right to know what is happening at #NoDAPL protest sites.</div><div>On Tuesday, the Redford Center released a video with Robert Redford urging Americans to call President Obama and tell him to protect clean water and to stand with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe who is fighting to stop the DAPL pipeline and to protect clean water for 17 million Americans along the Mississippi River in N. Goodman was previously charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass for the September 3, news coverage of a protest at a Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) site, which she and her camera man, John Hamilton recorded a vicious private security led dog attack on multiple Native Americans and a child who suffered dog bites. The DAPL security guards were not charged for any criminal intent to do harm by use of an animal.</div><div>The news coverage of the dog bites incident went viral on social media and the commercialized mainstream media. The trespass charged was dropped and Morton County State Attorney Ladd R. Erickson then filed a frivolous riot charge, which was rejected by Judge Grinsteiner on Monday morning.</div><div>Goodman told those at a press conference that many water protectors have been charged with minor misdemeanors and journalists have been charged with felonies in an attempt to suppress media coverage of the DAPL protests.</div><div>She says more than 140 have been arrested since August and charged. Several of those arrests included Sara Jumping Eagle, a Pediatrician for the Standing Rock reservation was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and booked at the MCSO jail and stripped search and Dave Archambault II, the Chair of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe was also arrested for civil disobedience and booked at the MCSO jail and was also stripped searched, according to Goodman. Other water protectors confirmed that many of those men and women arrested by the MCSO and assisting law enforcement have been stripped searched as well.</div><div>Reports confirmed that some who had been arrested for felonies had their charges dropped recently as well.</div><div>Also Myron Dewey, an indigenous journalist who had his drone illegally seized by a MCSO Deputy Jonathan Moll was processed at the County jail for a open warrant for a frivolous misdemeanor charge for stalking DAPL private security and was released on a $350 bond. According to Dewey, the DAPL security were harassing Native Americans and were not wearing name tags, no badges and had no license plates on their vehicles so, he went to the scene as journalist and recorded their actions. He also said, that MCSO deputies and assisting police were nearby at the September 3 DAPL security dog attack on people and none of the deputies or police acted to stop nor prevent the attack on Native Americans. They just stood there and watched dogs bite people. </div><div>In this case, Dewey says that Deputy Moll was seen taking photos of students at a school and was reported to police. Dewey is scheduled back in court on January 25.  </div><div>Shailene D. Woodley, 24, who was taken into custody on October 10 with 27 other water protectors at a DAPL site near St. Anthony is scheduled to appear in court on October 24 for several misdemeanor charges for criminal trespass and engaging in a riot. Dakota - On Thursday, the ACLU of North Dakota issued a press released announcing that they had filed an open records requests seeking information about the policing practices and possible use of surveillance technology by the Morton County Sheriff's Department and North Dakota Highway Patrol related to the Dakota Access Pipeline protests. The ACLU-ND stated, that the open records requests were made to aid us in there investigation into whether there are constitutional violations related to the law enforcement agencies' policing and surveillance monitoring of DAPL protests in the state. </div>The use of highway roadblocks and checkpoints, and militarized equipment by law enforcement in response to DAPL protests and the numerous reports of unwarranted stops by police sent to our office from individuals prompted the records requests. <br /><div>On October 8th, Myron Dewey was stopped near a DAPL site in a public access road and his vehicle was searched without permission and a drone was seized without a warrant. Law enforcement officers assisting the Morton County Sheriff's Office at the scene were video recorded live by Dewey engaging in an illegal act to seize property.</div><div>Dewey says, the officer in charge had told him that they had a warrant, but it turned out the officer didn't have one. The Morton County Sheriff deputy wouldn't give his name when asked by Dewey and he was not wearing a name tag, but would only reply that his name was deputy. He told Dewey that a warrant would be issued later for his arrest by the N. Dakota State Attorney General's Office. Dakota - On Saturday morning, a 300 vehicle convoy separated and went to three Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) front line sites near St. Anthony, but were blocked on public roads and highway by Morton County Sheriff deputies and other officers. The illegal blocking of public roads and highways by authorities in Morton County is a strategic move to prevent access to protesters to DAPL sites. The ACLU-ND is considering filing a lawsuit against the Morton County Sheriff's Office for illegal blocking of a public highway or road to prevent access for protesters to legally protest at a DAPL site.</div><div>Several protests were reported, some water protectors (protesters) locked down on equipment and law enforcement officers confiscated a Native American drum, 1 legal advisor was arrested and 9 others as well on Highway 6. The drum was later returned to Native Americans.<br />A United Nations observer was spotted at one of the police blackades, the Standing Stone Rising reported.<br />On Monday, a month long civil disobedience and non-violence plan of action will begin, according to water protectors. The Morton County Sheriff's Office policy is to arrest none favorable credential news reporters to both DAPL/MCSO and charged them with criminal trespass and other charges. </div><div>The Red Warrior Camp occupants reported ongoing police harassment on the rise, illegal police drone surveillance, illegal cop highway blockades and public access roads intentionally blocked by local MCSO deputies and other officers.<br />So far, the MCSO has generated more than $70,000 in fines resulting from arrests and bonds posted by water protectors and journalists since August with more than 140 arrests.<br />DAPL is not a public utility service, but private corporate owned to move their profitable crude oil product. Eminent domain can not be justified to accommodate a private corporation to construct a crude oil pipeline (black snake) on private, public and Native American reservation land.</div><div>The U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Indian Affairs and the N. Dakota Attorney General should launch an investigation into multiple illegal acts committed and the frivolous riot criminal charges against protesters and journalists arrested by the MCSO and Cass County Sheriff Paul Laney, the chief operations officer for the MCSO on public safety and DAPL demonstrations.<br />None of the MCSO deputies and other assisting officers at DAPL demonstration sites are not required to wear body video cameras.<br />The U.S. Department of Justice (USDOJ), Department of Army (DOA) and the Department of Interior (DOI) released a second announcement on October 10 to reaffirm that no easements will be granted to DAPL by the DOA Corps of Engineers. In a joint statement, "In the interim, the Army will not authorize constructing the Dakota Access Pipeline on Corps land bordering or under Lake Oahe.  We repeat our request that the pipeline company voluntarily pause all construction activity within 20 miles east or west of Lake Oahe," the USDOJ, DOA and the DOI reaffirmed their position after a federal appeals court denied an injunction to halt DAPL construction on private land.<br />DAPL has failed to comply and pause construction voluntarily in private property with the 20 mile zone requested by the feds, according to protesters.<br />Currently, there are five active water protector camps in Sioux County with a combine population of more than 3,000 (during the Labor Day weekend at least 10,000 people populated the camps). The camps are, Sacred Stone Camp (Cannon Ball), Sacred Stones Spirit Camp (Cannon Ball), Oceti Sakowin Camp (Cannon Ball), the following camps are located near each other, Red Warrior Camp (Fort Yates), North Camp (Main camp, North of Cannon Ball River and the largest camp) and Sicangu Oyate Camp (across the Cannon Ball River).<br />In other news, Amy Goodman, an award winning journalist for Democracy Now will turn herself to the Morton County Sheriff's Office on Monday, October 17 to face a new charged for rioting. Goodman on September 3 was covering a protest at a DAPL site when security used dogs to attack protesters. The news coverage by Goodman went viral on social media, which had more than 14M views and the mainstream media also reported her coverage.<br />Goodman was charged with criminal trespass by the MCSO, but it couldn't stick so, the charge was dropped. N. Dakota State Attorney Ladd R. Erickson filed a new charge for rioting.<br />Goodman goes before Morton County Judge John Grinsteiner to review, if probable cause exists.<br />None of the DAPL private security guards who attacked protesters (Native Americans with vicious dogs have not been charged of a criminal act. Multiple people and a child were beaten by the dogs. The protesters claim that the MCSO is corrupt and is bought off by DAPL. It seems, the DAPL corruption extends to the N.
