The owner of the pitbull dog informed police officers that she had a dog, but police shot it, the dog while bleeding fled and then dropped dead nearby.

Milwaukee, WI - On Sunday, Milwaukee police officers responded to a domestic violence call around 12:01 p.m. at the 1800 block of S. 6th Street to investigate a battery domestic violence complaint. When the officers arrived at the scene near W. Maple and S. 6th Street, a woman informed the officers that she had a pitbull dog, but the dog was shot by police. It is not clear why police shot the dog, but the dog fled the scene while bleeding once it was shot and later dropped dead nearby from the fatal shooting injury. Children were heard screaming and crying at the scene, according to a neigbor.
In photos posted on Facebook within minutes of the incident by Katherine Crespo, a woman is seen carrying the dead dog after it was shot by police. According to a neighbor, the dog owner asked police, why did you shoot my dog, I told you I had a dog and papers.
No one was taken into custody at the scene, according to the neighbor. Police have not released any information about the shooting ofor a pitbull, any arrest made and why police killed the woman's dog.
